How to Get 1 Million+ LinkedIn Impressions Using AI
1. Pick a Niche
I first learned of niches from my biology degree.
Simply put, it’s a particular part of an environment where different individuals live or find their livelihood.

The angry bird’s image above demonstrates this.
In my past 5 years in business, I have identified 3 niches:
Headwind niche: Sunset industry, trending down
Tailwind niche: Disruptive technology, trending up
No-wind niche: Evergreen industry, stable/seasonal trend
Aim to be in the 2nd and 3rd group.
And yep, I am borrowing this concept from flying planes.
Pilots need to understand wind directions to direct their planes in the right direction.
I’m in the AI LinkedIn marketing niche.
As both AI and LinkedIn are growing technologies, it’s a tailwind niche.
If you can, always pick a tailwind niche or at least a no-wind niche.
Below is an example of companies along the spectrum of headwind and tailwind niches

But most importantly, pick one that you have experience in.
If you already have 5 years of experience in an industry, lean into it.
But if your industry is already defined for you, ensure that it’s relatively evergreen and isn’t slowing down (like newspapers or radios).
Your niche is important as it will help you with the next step.
2. Define Your Target Audience
You need to define your target audience.
But to do that, you’ll need to collect data.
Here are some practical ways:
LinkedIn post comment section: Ask in a pinned comment for feedback about the post. Engage with comments genuinely, like talking to a person next door.
LinkedIn DMs: Send DMs to people who respond well in comments. Introduce yourself, build relationships, and ask them what their problems are.
1-1 Calls: After a few DMs, offer to get on a call to find out their problems and understand if your current skills can help them with the problem.
Here are some passive ways:
Newsletter subscribe surveys
Newsletter polls
Pull out a piece of paper.
Write down:
What they do
Where do they hang out (offline/online)
Are they B2B/B2C/B2D/B2G?
Where are they on the globe?
What do they like?
What is an example of their name and title?
If you already know your audience and found a product market fit, move to step 3.
3. Create An AI Lead Magnet
This is the “secret sauce”.
The powerful part of this tutorial.
This method has singlehandedly built 90% of my audience.
7/10 of my top-performing posts are using this method.
It’s lead magnets.
Start by writing on a piece of paper:
List ALL the problems your target audience faces
List ALL the solutions to the problems
Then go create a lead magnet for one of them.
The process is cyclical.
And it goes like this:
Problem → solution → create lead magnet → test lead magnet → repeat
But there’s a big problem with lead magnets.
They are super time-consuming to make.
I heavily make use of AI to help me rapidly create lead magnets.
I’ll list out all the freebies here:

4. Spend Time Networking
This is one of the most underrated parts of growing on LinkedIn.
LinkedIn is a social media platform.
So you need to be social.
But you don’t necessarily need to be an extrovert.
Do this:
Connect with 5x people daily who have viewed your profile but not connected.
DM and get on calls with 3 people in your niche with results:
Much better than you (3X more than you)
Slightly better than you (5-10K more followers)
Similar to you (0-1k difference)
Build a list of similar creators in your niche and links to their profiles. Engage with them 15mins before you post and 15mins after.
But please be genuine in your engagement.
People can tell if you are in it just for your own growth.
Always be willing to help others and grow together! 😃
Also, don’t be quick to join engagement pods (or groups that say they aren’t pods but are).
LinkedIn isn’t dumb, they can tell.
That’s all I got today 😁
Talk soon.
