The personal brand I’m building behind the scenes (with a little help from AI)

I almost lost my voice to AI. Here's how I took it back—and the exact system I use to create weekly content.

Hey friends,

I never used to think I had a “personal brand.”
I wasn’t trying to be a thought leader.
I just started sharing what I was learning.

But little by little, something shifted.

People started replying.
Asking questions.
Following along.
Then—reaching out to collaborate, join my list, or take my course.

That’s when it hit me:

Your personal brand is just your reputation—made visible.

Justin Chia

It’s not about being famous.
It’s about being findable.
Being trusted before people even meet you.
And that’s what I’m quietly building now—with AI as my assistant.

Let me show you how I do it.

Step 1: I collect raw ideas—without judgment

Throughout the week, I drop ideas into Notion:

  • Thoughts I had in the shower

  • Interesting DMs or email replies

  • Mistakes I made

  • Posts I liked (and why)

Most of them are half-baked. That’s okay.
The key is just to capture the sparks. AI can help fan them into flames later.

Step 2: I sit down once a week and sprint

Usually Saturday mornings, after coffee.
I open ChatGPT and use this go-to prompt:

“You are a content strategist. Turn this messy idea into a short, scroll-stopping LinkedIn post. Make it sound like a real human wrote it. Include a personal moment, a lesson, and a question.”

Then I paste in one of my messy notes from Step 1.

What comes out isn’t perfect.
But it’s structured. Clear. Ready to refine.

Step 3: I make it mine

This part matters most.

I never post straight from the AI output.
Instead, I ask:

  • Would I actually say this out loud?

  • Is there a moment I can add from my real life?

  • Is this helpful—or just “content”?

I rewrite the post in my own voice.
Trim the fluff.
Add one honest detail.
Done.

Every post leads somewhere.
Sometimes it’s my AI Roadmap.
Sometimes it’s a waitlist.
Sometimes, nothing at all—just trust.

But behind the scenes, my content is building:

  • My list

  • My product pipeline

  • My long-term platform independence

And best of all: it’s actually mine.

If you’re trying to build your own personal brand—quietly, consistently, with integrity—here’s what I’ll say:

Start small.
Share what you’re learning.
Let AI help you get out of your own way.
But keep your voice at the center.

That’s what people connect with.

That’s all I have to share for this week.

Catch you next week ✌️
